The Al2O3 coatings WILL dissolve in concentrations of aqueous Nitric acid more dilute than about 90% HNO3.

Concentrations above 90% HNO3 are so strongly oxidizing that they do not react with the Aluminum oxide coating. Aluminum storage tanks for industrial sites have been used for storing HNO3, but Aluminum do not react with concentrated nitric acid since a thick, hard to dissolve oxidation layer builds (passive oxidation) that protects the metal against further assaults.
