The ions having same number of electrons are called isoelectronic species.
In such ions, size decreases as the nuclear charge (atomic number) of the ion increases. In case of multivalent cations, more is the magnitude of charge smaller is the ion. This is due to the enhanced effective nuclear charge, the outer electrons experience greater attraction towards the nucleus and thus have smaller size.
