Assertion :An emf is induced in a long solenoid by a bar magnet that moves while totally inside the solenoid along the axis of the solenoid. Reason: As the magnet moves inside the solenoid the flux through individual turns of the solenoid changes.

Solution
The correct option is D Assertion is incorrect but Reason is correct Given the solenoid is long, so the net magnetic field lines crossing the solenoid surface do not change on moving the magnet. Hence there is no net change of magnetic flux, therefore no EMF is be induced. (faraday's law). However the flux through individual turns of the solenoid changes as the magnet moves inside the solenoid. (Note: the answer would change if the solenoid is not long)
