The electric potential energy should decrease from A to B, U=e×V where V is the potential at that point.
So if UB<UAVB>VA i.e., potential at A is less than that at B.
As potential energy decreases, the kinetic energy increases from A to B.
Thus both the assertion and reason are correct but reason is not the correct explanation of the assertion.
