Artificially acquired passive immunity results when antibodies that have been produced outside the host are introduced into the body. This type of immunity is immediate, short lived, lasting only a few weeks to a few months.
In case of snake bite, readymade antibodies are administered into the patient’s body so that the patient can quickly generate an immune response and the time taken to develop the antibodies can be saved.
This is an example of artificial passive immunity but is not the reason for it. So although the assertion and reason are correct, the reason is not the correct explanation of the assertion.
