Given : Beat frequency b=fAfB=4
Let the initial frequency of A be fA=256Hz and that of B be fB=252Hz
Loading wax on a tuning fork A will decrease its frequency (fA).
Let say its frequency becomes either 246Hz OR 254Hz
Now new beat frequency b=|fAfB|
Case 1 : fA=254HzfB=252Hz
b=|254252|=2Hz, means beat frequency is decreased.
Case 1 : fA=254HzfB=252Hz
b=|246252|=6Hz, means beat frequency is increased.
