BeCl2 forms polymeric structure. In polymeric structure, Be is bonded to four Cl atoms. Since Be has two valency electrons and Cl has only one so here, three centre bonds are formed in which a banana shaped molecular orbital covers three atoms BeClBe and contains two electrons. And due to this structure it can not be easily hydrolyzed.
