are correct however Reason is not the
correct explanation for Assertion as from
the solution it is clear that strength of
H2O2 is just a term to express conc. of H2O2
in terms of volumes of oxygen gas based
on its decomposition to from water and
oxygen. This has nothing to do with normality
2H2+O22H2O+O2
Lets say we have M moles H2O2 in
1L solution.
from the given reaction
2 moles H2O2 gives 1 mol of O2 i.e 22.4m
1 mole of H2O2 gives (11.2×M)L of O2
1L of H2O2 gives (11.2×M)L of O2
Volume of H2O2=11.2×M
n factor of H2O2 is 2
Now,
Normality = Morality × n factor
N=M×2
M=N2...(1)
Volume M×11.2
Strength 11.2×N2....(2)
