Solution

The correct option is A Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion
In pinus, a conifer tree, the microspores are produced by microsporogenesis in microsporangium. Each microsporangium has an inner nourishing layer known as tapetum. A large number of dusty and two winged microspores are present. On maturity the microsporangium wall bursts and microspores (pollens) are released in the air which is called shower of sulphur. They are dispersed by wind due to presence of wings. So, the correct answer is 'Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion'.
