Solution

The correct option is B Both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not the correct explanation for Assertion.
Francis Crick’s reasoned presence of the small nucleic acid as an adaptor to translate the 4-letter language of nucleic acids into the 20-letter language of proteins. For the purpose, one part of the adaptor molecule binds to a specific amino acid and another part identify the amino acid coding nucleotide sequence in mRNA. The tRNA is called as adaptor molecule which helps to translates the nucleotide sequence of an mRNA into the amino acid sequence of a polypeptide. The assertion is correct. The tRNA carries covalently linked amino acid at its 3' end and anticodon loop that binds to particular triplet codon in mRNA. The amino acid forms the covalent bond with 2'/3' hydroxyl group of adenine residue at 3' end of tRNA. The presence of 3 loops and stems gives tRNA a clover leaf-like structure.
Thus, the correct answer is option B.
