Dipole moment, μ is the product of the magnitude of charge accumulated on bond and the distance between the two poles. Thus dipole moments of alkyl halide depend on not only the polarity of the bond but also on the bond length. Greater value of CCl in comparison of CF is due to a cumulative result of polarity and longer bond length of CCl compared to CF.
