The correct option is B Both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not the correct explanation for Assertion
Assertion Hydrogen atoms in ethyne (HCCH) are attached to the sp hybridised carbon atoms which is more electronegative. Thus, hydrogen atom can be liberated as proton more easily and ethyne behaves as an acid, thus easily reacts with base (NaNH2) and forms sodium acetylide.

Reason Alkynes are called unsaturated compounds because the carbon atoms that they contain are bonded to fewest hydrogen atoms than they can possibly hold.

Hence, both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not the correct explanation for Assertion.
