Horizontal velocity, vx=v will be constant
Hence, reason is false.
From A to B:
While vertical velocity v2y=02+2aH

Hence, vy=2gH
The velocity on reaching the ground would have two components vx which remains constant throughout the motion and vy which depends upon height.
Thus assertion is correct.
