Question

Assertion :For two events A & B such that P(A)=P(A/B)=14 & P(B/A)=12 then P(¯A/B)=34 & P(¯B/A)=12. Reason: Two events A & B are independent then P(B/A)=P(B).

Solution

The correct option is A Both Assertion & Reason are individually true & Reason is correct explanation of Assertion
Since P(A)=P(A/B)=14

events A & B are independent

P(B)=12=P(B/A)

Now P(A/B)=14 and =P(B/A)=12

P(¯A/B)=1P(A/B)=114=34

& P(¯B/A)=1P(B/A)=112=12
