Solution

The correct option is D Both Assertion and Reason are incorrect
It is not FSH (follicle stimulating hormone), but the LH(luteinizing hormone) which is also known as InterstitialCell Stimulating Hormone (ICSH). It stimulates the interstitial cells of Leydig, of the testis to secrete the male sex hormone testosterone and other androgens to regulate the secondary sexual characteristics. The follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is secreted by the anterior pituitary. It stimulates the testes in the males to produce sperms and the ovaries in the female to produce ova. It also stimulates ovaries to secrete female sex hormones called oestrogens.
So the correct answer is 'Both Assertion and Reason are incorrect'.
