In the Bronsted-Lowry theory, an acid donates a proton. Protophilic solvents are basic in character and react with acids to form solvated protons and they accepts proton and are generally polar in nature. Since CHCl3 cannot accept proton and it is a non polar solvent so it is not an example for protophilic solvent.
