Many vegetables are cultivated in green houses throughout the world. The vegetables which give high yield are cultivated in green houses where the growth conditions can be maintained. Capsicum or bell pepper are grown in green houses where they are enriched with higher concentration of carbon dioxide. In closed environment with high levels of carbon dioxide, there is net increase in the rate of photosynthesis and yield. Bell peppers are the C3 plants and do not have differentiated bundle sheath and mesophyll cells.
So, the assertion is correct but the reason is incorrect.
Thus, the correct answer is option C.
