We know that if α,β are roots of the equation Ax2+Bx+C=0,
then α+β=BA and αβ=CA
Then from (xy)2=(x+y)24xy
we get αβ=B24ACA
Assertion: Using reason and equating the value of αβ from both the given equations, we get
b24c=c24bb24c=c24b
b2c2=4(bc)(bc)(b+c+4)=0
b+c=4(bc)
