Assertion :In a chain of bulbs, 50 bulbs are joined in series. One bulb is fused now. If the remaining 49 bulbs are again connected in series across the same supply then light gets decreased in the room. Reason: The resistance of 49 bulbs will be more then 50 bulbs in parallel.

The resistance of 49 bulbs will be less than 50 bulbs in series.
Since, heat produced H=I2Rt, so R decreases, also heat produced as well as brightness will decrease.
The resistance of 49 bulbs will be more than 50 bulbs in parallel - this correct because of R/49>R/50 where R, the resistance of each bulb.
