Aquatic respiration is the type of respiration in which plants live underwater and release oxygen which is inhaled by aquatic animals. Plants require carbon dioxide for respiration and photosynthesis, so they float and come at the surface of the water their stomata take up the carbon dioxide for respiration. These plants are dependent upon the availability of carbon dioxide for respiration. When the aquatic animals exhale carbon dioxide it gets accumulated in the suboptimal level (Level just below the water surface) and is easily taken up by the aquatic plants.
