Solution

The correct option is A Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion
In the patients of renal failures and uremia, blood is dialysed in artificial kidneys. This eliminates small non-electrolyte waste products such as urea, uric acid, creatinine and the excess of electrolyte ions such as K+ and SO42 but retains plasma proteins and blood cells in the blood. The artificial kidney consists of many minute channels bounded by thin cellophane membranes, impermeable to colloidal plasma proteins but permeable to small molecules and ions. So, the correct option is A.
