Assertion is incorrect as Insectivorous plants are those plants which capture and digest live prey , such as insects, spiders, crustaceans, mites and protozoans to obtain nitrogen compounds that are lacking in its usual marshy habitat and not as a source of oxygen.
Reason is correct, as these plants are partly autotrophic and partly heterotrophic. Insectivorous plants like pitcher plant contains chlorophyll, hence it is capable of preparing its own food (autotrophs) and they trap the insects and utilize their proteins for nitrogen consumption (heterotrophs). Hence, option D is correct.
