The correct option is D Assertion is false but Reason is true
EAg|Ag>ECu2+|Cu
Cell representation : Cu|Cu||Ag|Ag
So for spontaneity of reaction, Ag|Ag will undergo reduction and Cu|Cu2+ will undergo oxidation.
If Ecell is positive, reaction will take place, i.e., on stirring a solution of AgNO3 with Cu spoon will not be possible. Since Cu spoon will dissolve in AgNO3 solution.
Ecell=(EAg|Ag)c(ECu2+|Cu)a = (0.80 - 0.34) = 0.46.
Ecell is (+ve). So it is not safe to stir AgNO3 with Cu spoon.
