Solution

A is true but R is false

Elongated cells called muscle fibers constitute muscle tissue. There are three types of muscle fibers:

Striated Muscles

  1. Long, cylindrical, unbranched and multinucleated.
  2. Present in limbs, body wall, tongue, pharynx and beginning of esophagus.
  3. Voluntary muscles.

Unstriated Muscles

  1. Long, tapering ends with uninucleate.
  2. Present in alimentary canals, blood vessels and iris of the eye.
  3. Involuntary muscles.

Cardiac Muscles

  1. Cylindrical, branched with uninucleate. Have intercalated discs occur between end of the fibers.
  2. Present in heart.
  3. Involuntary muscles.

Thus Assertion is true but Reason is false.
