Nitro benzene does not undergo Friedel-crafts reaction because the nitro group is a very strong electron-withdrawing group, which makes the aromatic system that its attached to very electron-poor.

A Friedel-Crafts acylation involves an acid-catalyzed addition of an electrophile (usually an acid chloride), which is also electron poor, to an aromatic ring, little or no reaction will occur if the aromatic ring is also electron deficient. This is because the nitro group (NO2) is too deactivating on the benzene to do any Friedel-Crafts reactions.
