When the kidneys are completely damaged, the patient receives hemodialysis.Blood from the artery is pumped into the tube that is through the dialyzer, which is filled with dialysis fluid. It contains the same quantity of electrolytes and nutrients as normal plasma. Cellophane tube is kept in the dialysis fluid. Molecules of waste substances such as urea, ammonia diffuse into the dialysis fluid. Now, the blood is returned to patient’s body through the vein.
