At boiling temperature 1000C, the degree of dissociation of water is higher than the degree of dissociation at 40C.
Hence, the hydrogen ion concentration is higher at 1000C that at 40C and hence lower pH.
The density of water is maximum at 40C. This is because the volume of water for given mass is minimum at 40C.
