Photochemical smog is the haze in the atmosphere accompanied by high levels of ozone and nitrogen oxides, caused by the action of sunlight on pollutants.So, the assertion is true.Also, They are produced from the reaction among nitrogen, oxygen and hydrocarbons (during combustion), especially at high temperatures. In areas of high motor vehicle traffic, such as in large cities, the amount of nitrogen oxides emitted into the atmosphere as air pollution can be significant.Hence reason statement is also true but it doesn't justify the assertion.
