If S M is the solubility of BaSO4 then,

Ksp=[Ba2+][SO24]=s×s=s2

Hence, the reason is correct.

In presence of 0.1 M Na2SO4, s=109 M=[Ba2+]
Also [SO24]=0.1 M.

Hence, the value of the solubility product is Ksp=[Ba2+][SO24]=109×0.1=1010

Hence, the assertion is incorrect.
