The correct option is B STATEMENT-1 is True, STATEMENT-2 is True; STATEMENT-2 is NOT a correct explanation for STATEMENT-1
First statement is true and the reason is that since, the earth revolves from west to east so when the rocket is launched from west to east the relative velocity of rocket becomes velocity of rocket + velocity of earth. Thus, velocity of rocket increases which helps ti to rise without much consumption of fuel.
Second statement is also true and the reason is that radius of earth is highest at equator. As we know that Fα1r2, it is minimum at equator.
Therefore, both are true and second is not an explanation of first.
