The correct option is A If both assertion and reason are true but the reason is the correct explanation of assertion
For diffraction purpose, target should have size of the order of wavelength of light used. So, X-ray cannot be used in standard diffraction grating as target which is spacing between the lines in different grating is large as compared with very short wavelength of X-rays.
