Organometallic compounds are those which have one or more metal carbon bonds. For example metal carbonyls (Fe(CO)5) contains bond between central metal (Fe) and C atom of carbonyl ligand.
Metallic carbonyls are organometallic compounds having both and bonds. C donates its electron density to the metal atom to form sigma bond whereas metal back donates the electron density to form pi bond.
