Magnesium chloride and calcium chloride are the common impurities present in table salt. It is highly hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air.

Because of the presence of MgCl2 and CaCl2 in sodium chloride(common/table salt), it becomes wet.

This type of wetting is generally observed in the samples of table salt obtained from seawater directly because magnesium chloride also occurs in seawater.

So both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion.

Hence option A is correct.
