The explanation for Assertion statement

  • The Kelvin scale is related to Celsius scale as follows: K = 0C + 273.15
  • Therefore, temperature below 0C is possible in Celsius scale but in Kelvin scale, negative temperature is not possible because below 0 K atoms would stop moving means they do not possess energy. And since mass and energy are related no energy means no mass.

  • We can say that zero degree Celsius is equal to 273.15 Kelvin, Hence we can convert Celsius value to Kelvin by just adding the value by 273.15.
