Solution
Wilting of the plant occurs due to the loss of rigidity. It is due to the loss of water.
If the witing is temporary it can be reduced by adding water to the soil. In the case of permanent wilting, the plant dies because of wilting.
In wilted condition, there s aloos of water from the plant cell which results in the loss of turgidity which makes the plant parts flaccid.
So, the assertion is incorrect as temporary wilting doesn't lead to death.
The reason is correct.
