The correct option is A Both Assertion and Reason are true and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion
Let the pH of Buffered solution is 7.
pH=log[H+]
hence , the [H+]=107
If we add the acid , say for example HCl then let the increase in [H+] concentration is by 1010. then new pH will be :
pH=log[107+1010]
pH=(6.9)
pH=6.9 which is slightly less than the pH = 7 .
