$z=\sqrt{R^2+X_c^2}$ where $X_c=\frac{1}{wc}$

$\Rightarrow z=\sqrt{R^2+{\left(\frac{1}{wc}\right)}^2}$

Also, $I=\frac{V_0}{z}\sin \left(wt\right)$

Thus as value of $c$ changes, $z$ changes and thus amplitude of $I$ ie, $\frac{V_0}{z}$ changes.
