Endothermic reactions are favoured at higher temperature as it needs the activation energy for reaction to proceed further. In case of exothermic reactions, lower temperature also can drive the reaction forward as the energy released during the subsequent reaction. This can also be explained on the basis of the Le-chatellier's principle.
So, the assertion is wrong.
