When magnet suspended freely then due to earth magnetic field a force act on north and south pole as shown in fig.
N−pole facing S−pole of earth.
S−pole facing N−pole of earth.
When magnet south pole push into the coil the left side coil developed south pole and right side north pole. And therefore current flow from right to left. If we want to flow current right to left then south pole have to push away from the coil so that left portion of the coils formed north pole and right portion formed south pole.
