Any tangent to y2=4ax is y=mx+1m as in y2=4(1)x(a=1).
If it touches x2=32y then x2=32(mx+1m)i.e.x2+32mx+32m=0
will have equal roots
D=(32m)24(32m)=0
8m31=0m=12
Required equation of common tangent is
y=12x+2 or x2y+4=0
So, Assertion is true followed by Reason (R),
Hence, choice (a) is correct answer.
