Question

Solution

The correct option is A Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion
At any instant, in time there will be places where the intensity is high and places where it will be low. Because the two light sources are not coherent that is to say they do not have a fixed phase relationship, the positions of these light/dark areas changes very rapidly - make a guess of every 1010 second. What you see is a time-averaged intensity - which is the uniform illumination of the screen.
