The correct option is B Both Assertion and Reason are correct but Reason is not the correct explanation for Assertion.
The atomic weight of Carbon atom=12
The atomic weight of Oxygen atom=16
Hence the atomic weight of carbon and oxygen atoms are constant
In CO2, the mass of carbon is 12 whereas that of oxygen is 32. Hence the ratio of their masses is 12:32=3:8

However, this fact is not justified by the constant atomic mass of carbon and oxygen. Hence both the statements are correct but the reason is not a correct explanation for the assertion
