Solution

The correct option is A Both Assertion and Reason are correct and Reason is the correct explanation for Assertion.
The nerve impulses are generated at the sensory receptor and are carried towards the CNS through the sensory neuron. The nerve impulse is transmitted through the axon of one neuron to the dendrite of the other neuron. At the axonic end, there are telodendrons that release the neurotransmitters which flow through the synapse to the dendrite of the other neuron. The synapse is the space or the cleft between the axon and dendrite of two successive neurons.
Thus, the correct answer is option A.
