Assertion :Two identical conical pipes, as shown in figure have a drop of water. The water drop tends to move towards tapered end. Reason: Excess pressure is directed towards centre of curvature and inversely proportional to radius of curvature. net excess pressure is therefore, directed towards tapered end. So the water drop tends to move towards tapered end.

The excess pressure is given by del(P) = 2T/r and at the tapered end, radius is less, hence the pressure is more. Hence, the drop will move away from the tapered end.

Hence, assertion is wrong. But the reason is correct (the only part being wrong is the direction of net excess pressure).
