Ozone in the stratosphere is responsible for the protection of earth from high energy UV rays that is, it acts as a life-saving screen and protects from warming effect of earth. UV rays react with CFC and remove chlorine which then degrades the ozone layer into $O_2$ and $O$.
Due to human activities, the ozone layer in the stratosphere starts thinning, which is also called as the ozone hole. The ozone hole is resulting in rain failure, increase in radiation, cancer (skin) and reduction in crop production. Global warming and climate change are because of increase in greenhouse gases which are methane, carbon dioxide and CFCs.
