When a strip of copper wire is released in the solution of silver nitrate, copper being a more reactive metal than silver displaces silver from its compound by forming copper nitrate with a shiny greyish white deposit of silver on the copper strip.
Hence, Assertion is wrong.
As copper is placed above silver in electrochemical series and hence being more reactive than copper can displace Copper from it's salt solution. Hence,Reason also is incorrect.
