Given that at 100 and 760 mm Hg pressure, a gas occupies a volume of 100cm3.
P1=760mm Hg
T1=0=273K
V1=100cm3
The kelvin temperature of the gas is increased by one-fifth while the pressure is increased one and half-times.
P2=760+12×760=1140 mm Hg
T2=273+15×273=327.6K
V2=?
Using combined gas law, we have
P1V1T1=P2V2T2
760×100273=1140×V2327.6
V2=80cm3
Hence the final volume of the gas will be 80cc.
