Dear Student, Volatility depends on intermolecular forces. Stronger intermolecular forces causes less volatility because molecules tend to be together. In C4 H10 i.e. butane, there are only London's forces but in water there exists Hydrogen bonding which is stronger than London's forces. Hence, water has less volatility than butane. Regards
