Solution

The correct option is A 140
Plot the graph for the first bus.

The first bus is traveling at a speed of 35 mi/h, which means that it travels 35 mi in one hour.

The distance traveled by first bus when second bus started traveling = 35 mi

The coordinates will be (1,35).

In the next hour, it will be at (1 + 1,35 + 35) = (2,70)

By using these two points, plot the graph:

The second bus starts at a distance of 20 mi away and at a speed of 30 mi/h.

At t = 0, the coordinates will be (0, 20).

After 1 h, it will be at (0 + 1,20 + 30) = (1,50)

Plot the graph for the above, we get,

Both the buses meet at 140 mi.
