Given that,

r. m. s velocity for O2=400m/s

We know that,

c=3RTm

Now, let at temperature TK r. m. s velocity of O2

cO2=3RTMO2.....(I)

Now, for H2

cH2=3RTmH2....(II)

Now, dividing equation (I) by (II)

cO2cH2=mH2mO2

cH2=cO2mH2mO2

cH2=400232

cH2=400×4

cH2=1600m/s

Hence, the r.m.s. velocity for H2 is 1600 m/s
